Our leather is designed to be treated rough—used and abused—its true beauty comes out as it ages and develops a rich patina. Don’t worry about tossing your bag in the trunk or on the floor; it only gets better with use.
If you'd like to be proactive in the aging process, use leather lotion and protectors. Clean your leather with a soft, damp cloth and apply a leather conditioner periodically to keep it in top condition.
Our leather is naturally water-resistant, but it is not fully waterproof. While it can withstand light moisture or rain, we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to water. If your leather gets wet, allow it to air dry naturally and apply a leather conditioner to restore its natural oils.

I ordered this backpack when my heavily used Frye leather backpack started unraveling after 7 years of almost daily use. I searched for a long time because I felt like I was losing a best friend. This is a highly worthy replacement. I’ve had it two weeks now and it is sleeker - I don’t knock ppl over when I turn around in the store! - and more ergonomic - the pockets are so well designed! The seams are inside so they are protected and the leather is richly treated. I definitely recommend this if you are the type who uses one main bag as your “best friend†and need to count on it to be there for you for years to come.
The leather is hard
This pebble leather backpack has plenty of compartments and space. Sides zippers for keys or phone. Large secured space for laptop/ipad and books or magazines. Other sleeves for glasses, passport, etc. It softens up nicely with use. Great for work or travel.

My first hides order was a medium tote bag. The quality is bar far above anything I’ve had before. I loved it so much, I donated all my other bags. My second Hides order was a blue Kelly backpack. It’s not heavy like some leather backpacks and the quality is the best. Beautiful leather, fine workmanship. I bought it for plane travel but I’ve been using it every day as my work commute bag. Like the style and the space. Did apply good quality leather conditioner before using it, going also onto the zippers with the rug humid with product. It seems reducing the stiffness of the zippers.

Bag of very nice quality. Full of pockets for storage. A laptop pouch of at least 13 inches (surely a 15-inch would also fit). I made engraved 4 letters in the bottom of the bag, it's great but I would have liked the letters to be a little bigger.
